What Are Turkey Teeth?
"Turkey teeth" is a popular term for cosmetic dental makeovers done in Turkey — but it's widely misunderstood. It's not a single procedure. Here's what the term actually covers and what you need to know.
Origin of the Term
Coined on social media by UK patients sharing before-and-after smile transformations. It describes any cosmetic dental treatment — veneers, crowns, implants — done during a trip to Turkey.
Multiple Treatments, One Name
Turkey teeth can include porcelain veneers, zirconium crowns, E-max laminates, dental implants, All-on-4, All-on-6 or full-mouth restorations. The right one depends entirely on your dental condition.
Not Every Clinic Is the Same
Quality varies hugely. The difference lies in the dentist's experience, the materials used, whether diagnosis is thorough, and whether treatment planning puts your dental health first — not just aesthetics.
Why It Costs Less in Turkey
Lower operating costs — not lower quality materials. Focus Dental uses the same Ivoclar E-max and Straumann implants found in top UK practices, at 50–70% less than private UK pricing.
Treatment + Holiday
Bodrum offers direct flights from the UK, resort-town infrastructure and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere — perfect for combining a 5–7 day dental trip with a proper holiday.
What a Good Clinic Provides
Full CT-scan diagnostics, in-house CAD/CAM lab, certified implant brands, same-day temporary teeth, transparent pricing, WhatsApp aftercare, and a written guarantee on all restorations.
The Focus Dental Approach
We don't treat every patient the same way. If your teeth are structurally healthy, we recommend minimal-prep laminates that preserve your natural enamel. If teeth are heavily damaged, crowns or implants may be the right solution.
Our dentists — each with 15+ years of experience — will always tell you what you actually need, even when a less expensive option is the right answer. That's what separates a responsible clinic from a volume-driven one.

Which Treatments Does Turkey Teeth Include?
The term covers a range of cosmetic and restorative dental procedures. Your ideal treatment depends on your dental health, the condition of your existing teeth and the result you want to achieve.
E-max Veneers & Laminates
Ultra-thin Ivoclar E-max porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. The most conservative cosmetic option — requires minimal enamel removal and is best for patients with healthy teeth who want to improve colour, shape or alignment.
Zirconium Crowns
Full-coverage ceramic crowns made from zirconium dioxide — one of the strongest dental materials available. Ideal for teeth that are heavily damaged, have large fillings, or need structural reinforcement alongside an aesthetic improvement.
Dental Implants
Titanium posts placed into the jawbone to permanently replace missing teeth. Focus Dental uses Straumann (Swiss), Medentika (Straumann Group, Germany) and Osstem (Korea) — all in the world's top 10 implant brands.
All-on-4 Implants
A full arch of fixed teeth supported by just four strategically placed implants. Designed for patients with extensive tooth loss or those wearing removable dentures who want a permanent, non-removable solution.
All-on-6 Implants
Similar to All-on-4 but uses six implant posts for added stability. Often recommended when greater bone density is available or when extra support is needed — particularly for the upper jaw.
Full Mouth Dental Implants
A comprehensive restoration replacing all teeth in one or both jaws. Includes surgical planning, implant placement, temporary teeth during healing, and final permanent crowns — the most extensive treatment option available.

Common Questions
Everything UK patients ask before getting their teeth done in Turkey. Can't find your answer? Message us directly.
Safety depends entirely on the clinic you choose. At Focus Dental, we use internationally certified materials — Ivoclar E-max porcelain, Straumann and Medentika implants — and maintain strict sterilisation protocols. Every dentist on our team has 15+ years of clinical experience. We carry out full diagnostics including CT scans before any treatment begins.
The key is choosing a clinic with verifiable credentials, genuine patient reviews and transparent treatment planning rather than making a decision based on price alone.
For veneer and crown treatments, a typical stay is 5–7 days. This covers preparation, fabrication in our in-house lab, fitting and final adjustments.
For implant cases, you usually need two visits: the first for implant placement (3–5 days) and a return visit after 3–6 months for the permanent crowns (3–4 days). We plan your full schedule before you book flights.
That's entirely your choice. Some patients prefer a bright "Hollywood" shade, others want a natural look that suits their complexion. Our smile designer works with you to select the shade, translucency, texture and shape of each tooth.
We use Ivoclar E-max ceramics known for natural light transmission — so even brighter shades maintain a realistic appearance. You approve the design before permanent restorations are produced.
Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of a tooth. They require minimal enamel removal (roughly 0.3–0.5 mm) and suit cosmetic improvements on structurally healthy teeth.
Crowns cover the entire tooth and need more preparation. They're used when a tooth is heavily damaged, has large fillings or has had root canal treatment. At Focus Dental, we never recommend crowns when veneers are clinically appropriate — preserving natural tooth structure is always the priority.
Treatment in Turkey typically costs 50–70% less than equivalent private treatment in the UK. The savings come from lower operating costs — not inferior materials. Focus Dental uses the same Ivoclar and Straumann products available in top UK practices.
The exact cost depends on the treatment type, number of teeth, material choice and any additional procedures. We provide a detailed, personalised quote after assessing your case — request yours free.
Our team stays available on WhatsApp after your treatment. If you experience any issues — sensitivity, a minor adjustment or a concern about healing — send us photos and we'll advise promptly.
For anything requiring in-person attention, we coordinate a return visit. We also offer a guarantee programme covering our restorations so you have peace of mind once you're home.
A panoramic X-ray (OPG) helps us give a more accurate initial assessment, but it's not required for your first enquiry. Close-up photos of your teeth work as a starting point too.
If you don't have a recent X-ray, most UK dental practices can provide one affordably. We also carry out a full CT scan when you arrive at our clinic in Bodrum.
At Focus Dental, yes. We use Ivoclar Vivadent E-max porcelain (Liechtenstein), premium zirconium blocks and Straumann / Medentika / Osstem implant systems — all CE-certified and used in dental clinics worldwide, including the UK.
Not every Turkish clinic uses the same quality of materials, which is why asking specifically about brands and certifications is one of the most important steps before choosing a clinic.
